  • Obiettivi: Module A Three Year Course, first semester. 6 credits (can be integrated in 12 credits taking the exam of Topography of Rome ad Ancient Italy). Educational objectives. The course aims at providing the student with an historical outline (from the XVIII century to the present day) of the archaeological theories and methods of investigation. The course also aims at providing a basic understanding of archaeological excavation, of survey, documentation, analysis of materials remains and application of scientific techniques. Expected results. The student must show an exhaustive knowledge: of the history of Archaeology; of the theoretical basis, of stratigraphic excavation and survey. He must also show a basic understanding in the field of valorization and communication of archaeological heritage. Final test. In a discussion of about 30 minutes the candidate must show an exhaustive understanding of theory, technology, method of investigation, analysis and reading of the archaeological remains.
