Obiettivi: The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the basic principles of the experimental approach used in modern laboratories in the biomedical field. The topics of the first part of the course will cover an overall analysis of the research process, from finding a research hypothesis and defining a suitable topic to perform literature surveys using available med lines. The students will learn the steps necessary in research to test the hypothesis and how to select different research methods and experimental models. The second part of the course will be focused on one specific scientific and medical topic (atherosclerosis), on some of the laboratory techniques that are recommended for the analysis of a biomedical research project, and on how to present scientific results and create a power point presentation.
