- Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: An introduction to the physics of energy generation and transfer by various technologies. Introduction to the Earth's climate and the science of climate change. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Understanding how physics concepts and equations apply to energy generation and transfer. Understanding the science of climate change, the future of energy and climate intervention APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Quantify energy transfer and efficiencies in basic processes relevant to energy technologies; explain how concepts from diverse areas of physics are used for progress in energy technology and environmental impact. Assess, interpret and manipulate quantitative data in the science of Climate Change. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Recognise and judge energy policies and climate science and intervention. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Illustrate analytically, and summarise quantitatively, various aspects on the physics of energy generation and the possibility of intervening in the Earth's climate. LEARNING SKILLS: Ability to move comfortably and autonomously in the scientific literature. The student will acquire introductory elements needed to pursue advanced studies on energy science and policy and in the science of climate change.
